Due to the time that is required to prepare sessions for each client, we require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment.
In the case of last minute cancellations, where you are unable to give 24 hours notice, you must notify us before 8 a.m. on the scheduled appointment day. In order to accommodate mild illnesses or other conflicts with your appointment, we can provide a virtual session.
Last minute cancellations will result in a 50% service fee charged to your account. Depending on the type of appointment scheduled, these fees vary. Missed or cancelled appointments after 8 a.m. on the day of the scheduled appointment will be charged at 100% of the service fee.
We understand that things come up on short notice, but our goal is to help as many clients as possible. By giving us adequate notice, we are able to schedule other clients who are waiting for our services.
PAYMENT AND FINANCIAL OPTIONS
Payment can be made in advance or at the end of the session by cash, e-transfer, or credit card.
Most insurance coverage companies have an amount that can be used for speech-language pathology services. Once you have paid for your session, you will be provided with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. At this time, we do not bill insurance companies directly.
Disability Tax Credit
You or your child may be eligible for a Disability Tax Credit (DTC). Should you wish to apply for DTC, we can provide a letter outlining the areas in which you require support. Once the application is submitted, Canada Revenue Agency will determine your eligibility.
Income Tax Deductions
Did you know that fees for speech-language pathology services can be claimed as a medical expense on your taxes? A complete list of eligible medical expenses are available on the Canada Revenue Agency website.
