Job Description

Aspire Speech is looking for a passionate and energetic Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to provide speech therapy to children from 0-18 years old and adults under the guidance and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).

The CDA will provide direct therapy to children from 0-18 years old and adults at our clinic located centrally in Bracebridge. This is a part-time contract position where the successful applicant will have the flexibility of deciding their hours of work and scheduling. This contract position has the possibility of becoming a permanent part-time position in the near future.

The CDA will be expected to perform the following duties as part of their job description as a CDA to a speech language pathologist:

  • Administering screening protocols

  • Preparing materials for use in assessment and therapy

  • Creating home programs and classroom materials

  • Providing families with resources and information

  • Assisting with parent and client workshops as needed

  • Performing administrative duties including scanning, filing and scheduling of appointments


The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant Program.

  • Have some experience working with preschool and school-age children with articulation difficulties

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a MUST

  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Be willing to undergo a police background check
